The development of mutual legal assistance between HK and China helps to build a more sophisticated mechanism. The Agreement signed on January 18th 2019 has positive impacts on HK traders and foreign investors because Hong Kong judgment could be enforced in China, and vice versa. Henceforth, by understanding the Mainland's litigation process and legal system, Hong Kong businessmen and foreign investors could leverage this new agreement to mitigate default risks and to protect the businesses when encountering commercial disputes.
